6th grade student Grayson Gibbs has been using STEM skills to create some fantastic things.  He was inspired by the recent trend of spinner toys, and after seeing one on line that he really liked he took the time to draw plans up as if he was going to make one.  His original plan indicates the dimensions for the spinner.  When his mom saw the plans, she knew she had to help him make his dream a reality!  They went to Wake Tech with the plans, because the facility has a 3D printer.  After some more work, Grayson was the proud owner of his very own spinner!  Not only is he working on more prototypes for different types of spinners, he has ideas to create a toy for our lifeskills classroom.  He's already calling it the Tactile Tinker Toy, and he's hoping to create something that will help our students with fine motor skills and dexterity!  We can't wait to see what else this creative inventor comes up with!
